Rebecca Flyckt, MD
Director, Fertility Preservation Program

Dr. Flyckt is a board-certified OB/GYN with subspecialty board certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She earned her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. She then returned to complete her training in OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Flyckt is Director of the Fertility Preservation and Cancer Program at Cleveland Clinic. She specializes in reproductive surgery for endometriosis and fibroids.
Dr. Flyckt's research interests include noninvasive biomarkers for endometriosis, reproductive outcomes in endometriosis, fertility preservation and ovarian tissue cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, minimally invasive surgery, fibroids, and tubal surgery. She is the principal investigator on the Cleveland Clinic Uterine Transplant Clinical trial, which resulted in the first uterine transplant in the United States.
Dr. Flyckt has published numerous scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Andreas Tzakis, MD
Emeritus Director of Transplantation
Cleveland Clinic, Weston, Florida
Dr. Tzakis received his Medical Degree at the University of Athens, Greece with Honors. He completed his surgical training at Mount Sinai Hospital and Stony Brook University, New York. He then joined Dr Thomas Starzl’s team at the University of Pittsburgh. During his tenure in Pittsburgh, he participated in the development of tacrolimus for clinical transplantation. He contributed, in particular, in its application in pediatric, intestinal and multivisceral organ transplantation.
He joined the University of Miami in 1994 and was the founding director of the Miami Transplant Institute, where developed and held the Andreas G. Tzakis endowed Chair in Transplantation. In 2012, Dr. Tzakis was recruited to build a new solid organ transplant program at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He has been a prolific researcher and has authored or co-authored 647 peer-reviewed publications. Among his publications, several are classic references in the transplantation community. He is the lead PI for the Cleveland Clinic Uterine Transplantation Research Program.  He has developed surgical techniques that made transplantation possible for patients with complicated medical conditions that were not considered candidates for transplant in the past. He has assisted in the development of programs in his native Greece, Brazil and Israel.
